The Nantahala River here is really not a river at all but a medium sized creek flowing gently through the high mountains. Standing Indian offers fun and enjoyment for the whole family, plus has all the features that test even the most experienced anglers.
Franklin North Carolina is also where the Cullasaja River empties into the the Little Tennessee River. The Cullasaja River flows down from Highlands North Carolina. The stretch of Highway 64 between the towns is aptly called the Waterfall Highway. Named such for the myriad of spectacular waterfalls and breathe taking scenery. The Cullasaja River is a good trout fishery and is one that offers great challenges for the experienced anglers.
