Fly Fishing the Smoky Mountains

Posted by on April 24, 2012

The fly fishing has been great so far this spring. Warm, almost summer like, temperatures have kept the trout and our guides busy!

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is fishing fantastic right now. Trout are taking dry flies with reckless abandon, and we are seeing some of the fattest trout on record! It’s going to be a great season inside the park!

The Tuckasegee River is on fire! With nearly 11,000 trout per mile right now in the Delayed Harvest section this is the hottest River in the South right now. The action has been nonstop with massive trout caught each day. We have guided more Float Trips on the Tuckasegee River than any other outfitter. We know this river like no other. As the Delayed Harvest season quickly approaches the end on June 1st, we are migrating over to other sections of the river for trout and bass on the fly. The scenery may change but the action remains!

We regularly take Smallmouth Bass, Trout and Walleye on the fly and spin tackle on the Lower Tuckasegee River and Little Tennessee River. We offer both Wade Trips and Float Trips on many different sections of these two amazing fisheries.

Don’t miss the opportunity to take a guided trip with us this year! We could be seeing some of the best fishing the Smoky Mountains and surrounding area have seen in recent years.
